Het eerste werk in deze band is een humanistische verhandeling over de Romeinse krijgskunt, zoals overgeleverd in het werk van Vegetius.
Beide uitgaven in deze band zijn rijk geïllustreerd met allerlei bizarre ontwerpen van oorlogsmachines.
