695 Willibrord wordt door de paus te Rome tot aartsbisschop onder de Friezen gewijd; Pippijn wijst hem het voormalige Romeinse fort in Utrecht als zetel aan
698 Pippijn schenkt Willibrord het klooster Echternach
714 Pippijn II sterft; Radbod herovert Utrecht; Willibrord trekt zich in Echternach terug
716 Bonifatius komt naar onze streken maar kan vanwege de oorlog niets uitrichten; hij keert terug naar Engeland
